Nastassia “Tazzy” Janvier

Nastassia Janvier is the student body president at Florida State University and serves as the student representative on the FSU Board of Trustees. Born in Port au Prince, Haiti, she grew up in Miramar, Florida. Janvier is a proud first-generation college student who graduated from FSU in May 2020 with her bachelor's degree in interdisciplinary social science. She is currently working as a graduate assistant in FSU’s College of Social Sciences and Public Policy while pursuing her master’s degree in Public Administration.

Janvier is also chairwoman of the Florida Student Association, a role she was elected to by the respective student body presidents at each of the state's 12 public universities. As FSA chair she has a seat on the Board of Governors and represents the 400,000 students in the State University System of Florida.

Since arriving at FSU, Janvier has served in leadership capacities in numerous student and community groups, including as president of the FSU chapter of the NAACP, National Next Gen Fellow with the NAACP, a member of the board of directors for the League of Women Voters and outreach coordinator with Access Democracy. She is also a member of Delta Sigma Theta sorority.
